Mone (Mona) Seanthavesouk
April 8, 1945 - November 16, 2015
Mona peacefully, and surrounded by her family, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the age of 70 years young.
Mona immigrated to Canada with her five children in the early 80s to escape communist rule of the Vietnamese army and government. She had left her career as a teacher and lost all her possessions and essentially, her life as she knew it; so that her children may have a better life. She was a strong, loving, thoughtful, and selfless person. She was an active member of the Laotian community and the Lao Alberta Buddhist Temple. She loved being there and felt at home. She was loved by all who knew her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her Husband Sawath; and her children: Banthit, Bana and Brian Simpson, Lita, Kinawa and Ian Harrison, and Alla and Anastasia Nguyen. Her wonderful grandchildren: Aurora, Everst, Alister, and Adriana; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Howard & McBride Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home Saturday November 21st, 2015 at 12pm, 10179 – 108 St, Edmonton AB T5J 1L1.
The family would like to thank the doctors, neurosurgeons, and nurses at the University of Alberta Hospital for their excellent care.
