On September 2, 2015 Erika Lemoine (nee Schultz) passed away at the Grey Nuns Hospital at the age of seventy five.
Erika will be remembered by her three daughters, Bonnie Schultz, Doris (Bruce) Sabatier and Doris Chorney (Tom), grandchildren, Garret (Angela), Amy (Joel), Noah, Laura, Erik and Tyson and great grandson, Evan.
She will also be missed by surviving siblings, Bernhard, Günther, Erna and Christel, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Erika immigrated to Canada at seventeen where she lived with her brother, Bernie in Regina and attended Sask Tech College. There she learned to speak and read English.
Her love of reading was to become a lifelong joy and indulgence.
She later traveled whenever she could and made many friends wherever she went.
Loving the beautiful country of the north, she worked both in the North West Territories and Saskatchewan. Being a people person, she finally decided on the bustling mining town of Eldorado in northern Saskatchewan.
There she worked in the Rec Hall as a waitress, a job and lifestyle she loved so much that she reminisced about it for decades afterwards.
Erika was a gregarious young woman, full of fun and adventure and enjoyed meeting people, many who became lifelong friends.

Her daughter Bonnie was born in Regina in 1964, followed by Doris in Edmonton in 1965 and Doris in Uranium City in 1967.
Erika bought a house in Uranium City but missed her family. In 1972 Erika returned home to Germany for a year to work, and to spend time with her mother and siblings.
She explored the possibility of staying in Germany with her young family however she also missed Canada and returned.
Erika later moved her family to Edmonton and worked as a cashier at the Royal Alexandra Hospital cafeteria hall, another job she loved, as she was able to meet and interact with many people.
Through the years Erika enjoyed the company of good friends and family, enjoying frequent visits with them.
Her daughters attended school, grew up and had their own families, bringing her six beautiful grandchildren and a great grandson.
In later years, as she struggled with declining health, she continued to enjoy visitors and outings, her green thumb, watching hockey games, working puzzles and especially reading, having read hundreds of books.
The family would like to sincerely thank the kind nurses and doctors at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their compassionate care of Erika and the kind support offered to her daughters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday September 13, 2015 at Howard McBride Chapel of Chimes, 10179-108 Street in Edmonton, with a luncheon reception to follow.
